SciTech SNAP
Graphics IES Offers Accelerated Performance for On Time RTOS-32.
Chico, California
-- (January 29, 2004) -- SciTech
Software today announced that it has added support for
On Time RTOS-32, a popular Win32 based industrial embedded
operating system to SciTech SNAP Graphics IES. With the
latest release of SciTech SNAP Graphics IES, developers
who wish to utilize On Time RTOS-32 and require either
OpenGL support or fully accelerated 2D graphics, now have
the ability to build and deploy industrial embedded systems
based on the On Time RTOS, utilizing SciTech SNAP’s
OpenGL software rasterizer and powerful 2D accelerated
graphics engine. In addition to this advanced functionality
SciTech SNAP Graphics also exposes a wide range of refresh
rate and mode control not previously available to developers
on this platform.
“When we launched the IES product line the goal was simple: provide
Industrial embedded developers with a best in class graphics device driver
solution regardless of selected operating system; with the addition of
support for On Time RTOS-32 we continue to make progress towards that goal
and look forward to supporting additional operating systems over the coming
year” said Andrew Bloo, Director of Sales and Marketing for SciTech
Software Inc.
SciTech Software’s leading edge driver technology has been proven
on millions of systems worldwide and validated by leading companies
such as IBM, ATI, and HP. The IES product line (Industrial Embedded
Systems) launched last year, bringing robust graphics performance to
specialty operating systems. Since the release of SciTech SNAP IES,
SciTech has partnered with companies such as Trolltech, IBM, On Time,
and others in order to deliver solutions that work in today’s
demanding and cost sensitive environments.
Demos of SciTech SNAP Graphics IES for On Time RTOS-32
can be downloaded from either the On
Time website or from SciTech and
include
the following demos:
- GATest: Basic display controller tests
for SNAP Graphics API.
- MGLDemo: Series of 2D drawing tests
using MGL library API.
- MVisDemo: Similar MGL 2D tests using
MegaVision GUI library.
- MGLGears: Classic Mesa 3D demo using
MGL OpenGL API bindings.
- MGLDoom: Port of Id Software DOOM
shareware game using MGL API.
Included with the announcement of native support
for On Time RTOS-32 is the release of an updated version
of SciTechMGL, SciTech’s’ high-performance,
low-level graphics library and the SciTech SNAP SDK with support
for On Time RTOS-32. In addition to these updated tools,
SciTech has also
released a refreshed version of its lightweight embedded windowing
environment called MegaVision based on SciTech MGL. All of
these tools are available
under a dual-license, which offers both commercial and open
source developers the freedom of choice in deciding how best
to develop and distribute their applications.
