Attach an Unlimited Number of DPVL Enabled
Displays to a Single Graphics Card with SciTech SNAP
Chico, California -- (January
2, 2006) -- SciTech Software, Inc. today announced the availability of VESA DPVL (Digital
Packet Video Link) support in its Enterprise
level driver solutions for multiple operating systems including Linux and Windows.
Designed to provide transactional desktops, security systems
and information kiosk developers with a simple method of adding
a large number of DPVL enabled displays to their systems via
a single digital panel connector.
"We see DPVL as one of the most business applicable features
to roll out of VESA since the introduction of (DPMS) Display
Power Management Signaling. DPVL provides the ability to deploy
multi-display systems utilizing a single digital connector
reducing costs, noise and heat, while also simplifying the
cable clutter typical in these environments." said Andrew
Bloo, Director of Sales and Marketing for SciTech Software
Inc.
VESA's most recent method of supporting multiple displays
allows hardware to meet the ever increasing environmental constraints
found in high-density and specialized environments such as
call-centers, trading-room floors, airports and security centers.
Issues such as a reduction in over all hardware costs, energy
consumption and noise emissions are increasingly becoming important
to system administrators and the personnel that interact with
the equipment. SciTech's solution requires no special graphics
hardware, making it both compatible with many existing systems
as well as newer systems which might be deployed specifically
with VESA DPVL support in mind.
SciTech SNAP Graphics ENT with the addition of VESA Digital
Packet Video Link (DPVL) offers cost savings across the board.
These savings can be realized up front through the use of
simple off the shelf graphics hardware, as well as over the
life of the system through reductions in energy consumption,
lower heat and noise dissipation, space savings and a reduction
in the amount of cabling required to connect the system to
the host-client. SciTech SNAP Graphics can be used on existing
hardware in many cases, which helps to maximize the life
cycle of existing hardware solutions improving the ease of
adoption and the cost effectiveness of deploying DPVL.
