Chico, California -- (September 1, 2004) -- SciTech Software, Inc. today announced the release of SciTech SNAP Boot IES for PowerPC, which significantly raises the bar on graphics device compatibility on PowerPC based industrial embedded systems. Designed to enable the use of standard x86 graphics hardware on PowerPC based systems SciTech SNAP Boot makes it possible to quickly and easily bring commercial off the shelf graphics hardware into a ready state on PowerPC based systems. Advanced control over the graphics hardware can then be gained through the use of SciTech SNAPs powerful OS-agnostic graphics architecture and a powerful 2D graphics acceleration engine.

An Additional VESA VBE 2.0/3.0 driver is also available and makes it possible to bring up other graphics hardware, which may not be fully supported by SciTech SNAP’s advanced acceleration features.
